About the event
Join us for a journey down the La Salle River at one of our May Wednesday Evening Open Paddles! These paddles start and end at the canoe/kayak launch at La Barriere Park, just past the Paddle Manitoba Paddling Centre building. May paddles leave the launch at 6:30 pm sharp and cover about 6 km (4 mi) before returning at 8:30 pm.
There are two ways you can participate:
You can bring your own canoe, kayak or SUP. Be sure to arrive early enough to unload your boat and park before the departure time. You must wear a PFD (lifejacket) and have the required Transport Canada safety equipment of a whistle, throw rope and bailer (canoes and kayaks). You must also complete the Paddle Canada waiver at the first event you attend (this waiver is then good for all subsequent paddles for the season).
